A Managed Services Agreement (MSA) is a written agreement between a Managed Service Provider (MSP) and your business that outlines the level of service the MSP will deliver. This gives your business the peace of mind that we will deliver on the terms of the agreement set out and provides you with priority service above that of adhoc services.
A Managed Services Agreement (MSA) clearly documents the roles and responsibilities of both the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and your business. We collaborate with you to establish a baseline environment with a Service Level Agreement (SLA). We prioritise process and response times as well as hours of coverage, inclusions and exclusions and a fee schedule so both parties are fully across what is covered in the agreement and how much it is worth each month. It also includes the term of the agreement; Monthly, 12 months, 24 months or 36 months.
Depending on the type of agreement, you can get budget certainty with a Fixed Fee Agreement or on-demand flexibility with a Pre-Paid Agreement. Both our agreements include the same set if IT Management tools:
Network Management
Systems Management
IT Security
Data Protection
IT Help Desk
Application Management
This ensures that we have visibility, recoverability and your site is protected from disaster and threats both internal and external. Talk to us today to discuss how you could benefit from Managed Services.
The short answer is yes, the longer answer is it depends on the type of agreement that suits your business.
Fixed Fee Agreements include our IT Protection and Recovery toolset along with all BAU (Business as Usual) Labour for a fixed monthly fee. What is BAU labour you ask, put simply BAU labour is ‘if it worked yesterday then it needs to work today’. We steer away from different charging models like a specified number of Adds/Moves or Changes as this gets messy and does not help either side for accountability. By understanding your environment during discovery, we are able to provide you with a fixed fee that is tailored to your business.
Pre-Paid Agreements include the same IT Protection and Recovery toolset outlined in the Fixed Fee Agreement but hours are pre-purchased in a block of hours (minimum 10 hours) and used on demand.
Generally smaller businesses or businesses that have not entered into a Managed Services Agreement (MSA) in the past will choose the Pre-Paid Agreement with Block hours until they have a good baseline of what managing their IT systems from a professional Managed Service Provider (MSP) looks like. They still have the same protections afforded to the Fixed Fee agreement with the inclusion of the IT Protection and Recovery tools but want to understand their environment first. As part of our services, we hold a quarterly business review to help our clients understand their current system state and offer any improvements we might have seen since inception.
Medium to larger businesses will generally look for the Fixed Fee Agreement as they understand the costs of staffing an IT department and the value an experienced MSP can provide their business. They may also be looking for budget certainty and have worked with MSP’s in the past so can articulate their current system performance in a way we can tailor the agreement to suit them from day 1.
This set of tools have been cultivated and refreshed over the past 26 years to ensure our clients systems are protected and in a recoverable state at all times.
We update technologies to meet the growing sophistication of cyber threats on a regular basis to ensure our clients stay protected as best they can.
Give us a call! But before signing anything we will sit down with you to fully understand your needs and ensure the right agreement is entered into from day 1. We seek to understand the size of your business, your budgetary requirements, auditing and compliance requirements, what you have had in the past, what worked for your business and what didn’t. By better understanding your needs we can tailor an agreement that suits all requirements.
By working with our Discovery Team we identify any roadblocks that the Engagement Team can work through before the Transition Team takes over. We have worked with many providers in the past to migrate IT systems into our service platform. We have developed a process around working with the incumbent provider to ensure a seamless transition on an agreed date/time. We ensure your systems are operational, stay protected and are in a recoverable state should anything challenge us during transition.
No. The term of the agreement is set by you at the beginning of the agreement. There are term options for Monthly, 12 Months, 24 Months or 36 Months. We offer onboarding discounts of up to 50% depending on the agreement term entered into, which is all discussed during our discovery meetings.
No. Every business carries the same risk. By having a Managed Service Agreement (MSA) you are engaging a professional Managed Service Provider (MSP) that understands the cyber risk businesses face every day. It ensures that we have visibility, recoverability and your site is protected from disaster and threats both internal and external.
Yes. By working closely with a Managed Service Provider (MSP), your IT Manager is getting the best of both worlds. They have an intimate knowledge and control over the direction of the business goals and we have the expertise to make this a reality. We collaborate with IT managers that look to streamline their operations and not have to worry about staffing a department.
Yes. We can uncategorically say that employing a professional Managed Service Provider (MSP) is more cost-effective than hiring an in-house IT team. When you break down the skill sets required to run and IT department you would need to hire at a minimum 4-6 resources. You would need roles in:
IT Management
Project Manager/Project Lead (Level 3)
Technical Manager/Lead (Level 3)
Helpdesk/Triage (Levels 1 and 2
Some of these roles can be shared but to effectively own the role and have 100% accountability they all should be separate and defined roles.
As a professional MSP, we have clearly defined roles and responsibilities to ensure we are all accountable in our staffed roles. Meet our team!
