Our Business Development Manager, Clive, has an interest in running and will be taking on the Cairns Iron Man challenge at the end of the year! Good luck! We’ll be cheering you on from the pub!

Tell us one of your proudest achievements?

I have had many life experiences and done many things, but who my kids are so far in their young lives would have to be right up there – come the end of September I may change this (should I manage) to finish the Cairns Iron Man!

Tell us something that none of your colleagues know about you?

I’d lived in 2 African countries and the UK before I had even started school and went on to live in Germany for a couple of years where I managed IT projects throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. It was a US based organisation so I had to go to New York a bit and went to the World Trade Centre for diner a few times.

Does tomato sauce go in the fridge or cupboard?

When you live somewhere cold or temperate who cares, but in Cairns once it’s open the fridge is the only place to keep it.

Tell us the funniest joke you know?

Here’s a true story a door to door salesman in London knocks on the door to this place and a kid (about 10 years old) answers. The salesman says “Are your Mum and Dad home?”, the kid looks at his left hand where there’s a beer, then to the right where there’s a lit cigarette and then back to the salesman and says “Does it bloody look like it!”

After you left school, what was your dream job?

The only thing I wanted to do was play football, by which I mean the World game with a round ball. I also recall telling a careers advisor quite firmly that if I couldn’t then I would be a Deep Sea Diver! (When I moved to Cairns first job was as a Diving Instructor)

What do you enjoy most about working for Future Computers?

The opportunity to create opportunities and provide solutions.

If you were arrested with no explanation what would your friends and family think you have done?

Years ago it would have to be partying too hard, but now mistaken identity!

If you were stranded on a desert Island and could have one piece of technology, what would it be and why?

My Garmin, as long as they have invented one that is solar-powered, so I can keep training. If not, an endless supply of beer would be good too.

If you had to pick one superpower what would it be?

To swim like a fish, run like the wind and not fall off my bike, but then the power to self-heal could be handy if I do fall off.
